About CWP
Community Wellness Partnership emerged in 1994 out of three neighborhoods in the City of Pomona in Los Angeles County, California.
In 1994, a group of youth and adult activists merged to address the problems of youth violence in the City of Pomona. Three objectives were decided on- reduce handgun fatalities among youth, reduce alcohol marketing and underage drinking among culturally diverse youth and institutionalize a citywide public health prevention operating system targeting youth and families. CWP advocated for the passage of 9 major policies at the local, county and state levels.
